Are you at risk of falling? You may have an increased risk of falling if you:
- Have fallen in the past year
- Feel unsteady when standing or walking
- Have difficulty stepping up or down
- Take medications that may affect balance or alertness
- Have reduced feeling in your feet
- Have uncorrected vision or hearing problems
- Often rush to the bathroom
- Live with chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, or chronic pain
- Have a disability that affects mobility or balance
- Limit activities because you fear falling
- Feel isolated, lonely, or depressed
